Belize: Gunmen took over $60,000 from Princess, police say
Police are investigating a daylight armed robbery at the Princess Hotel and Casino in Belize City, in which police say over $60,000 in cash was reportedly taken when four armed men held up the hotel employees around 9A.M. on Monday.
According to police, the four armed gunmen entered a recently renovated office, from the pool area where five employees were busy checking the previous day’s sale.
Once inside, they held the employees at gunpoint and stole some the money.
The thieves quickly rushed off in a brown get-a-way car which was waiting outside.
Unlike most of the hotel compound, the recently renovated area had no security cameras.
Police in their investigation are not ruling out the idea that the bandits may have had inside help as it seems they were well acquainted with the area.
